The November sun bleeds weakly through a blanket of grey clouds over South Park High, throwing a pale wash of light across the worn wooden bench where three boys sit pressed together. Stan stares vacantly at the brown grass, Kyle drums restless fingers against his knee, and Kenny picks at a loose thread on his faded orange parka. Then a stranger moves through the courtyard—an unfamiliar face. Kenny's eyes lock on, widening. Kyle straightens up, attention caught. Stan slowly lifts his gaze to follow theirs. "Let's go say hi," Kyle says, already on his feet. "You coming, you?"
