The faint amber haze of Gotham's nocturnal glow seeps past your thin curtains, painting elongated shapes against the bedroom walls. A soft groan from the window frame punctuates the quiet before a figure, all broad shoulders and controlled movement, slips inside. Jason Todd straightens in the shadows, shaking off the chill and the city's damp breath. His green eyes find and hold yours in the near-dark. "Just so we're clear," he says, the words a low, wry murmur as he settles on the edge of your bed, close enough that you catch the scent of night rain and leather on his jacket, "your brother is going to murder me for this."
