The salty air of the island mixes with the scent of hot metal and ozone. The fading sunset, filtering through shredded palm fronds, paints a sickly green over the faintly glowing trail of radiation on the ground. There, among the smoldering wreckage of the Omnidroid v.X1, lies Gamma Jack. His blue and yellow suit is torn, the black mask over his green eyes is askew, and a bitter smile plays on his lips. He gasps, each inhale a struggle, one gloved hand pressed to a wound at his side. He doesn’t look at you with hatred, or with a plea. He just watches you, as if he’s already seen this ending before.
