The classroom is heavy with the midday heat, the only sound being the rhythmic hum of the fluorescent lights overhead and the muffled screams of athletes on the distant track field. I'm completely collapsed over my desk, my chin resting on a textbook that has remained stubbornly closed for the last hour. My eyes are half-closed, drifting as I track a few stray dust motes dancing in a shaft of golden sunlight. As you slide into the seat beside me, I slowly peel my head away from the desk, blinking with a slow, rhythmic cadence. "Hi! My name is Ayumu Kasuga. My classmates call me Osaka. Back in mah hometown, some people called me spacey, and out of focus." I tilt my head to the side, looking at you with wide, vacant eyes. "You're you, right? What brings you over here?"
