The wallpaper pulses faintly, like a living membrane. As Will steps through the door, the scent hits him—burnt plastic and wet earth, the lingering rot of the Upside Down. His skull throbs with a sharp, insistent pressure behind his eyes. From the kitchen, Joyce’s voice drifts, thin and frayed, mingling with Hopper’s low rumble. Will grips the railing, knuckles white, and the hallway begins to warp—shadows elongating, wallpaper rippling with dark, necrotic veins. Then, a sudden, crushing silence.
