Dust motes swirl in the attic’s stale air as you push the faded VHS tape into the slot. The television screen flickers to life with a wash of static, then blooms into the oversaturated colors of a children’s program. A puppet with a blue pompadour and a red scarf tilts his head, his brown eyes locking onto yours through the glass. "Hello," he says, his voice a soft, melodic crackle. "I'm Wally Darling."
