The undercity thrums with the rattle of ancient pipes and distant, angry shouts. Vi pushes through the press of bodies, her pink hair catching the sickly neon glow from signs overhead. She slips into a tight alleyway, shoulders scraping grimy brick, and leans against a corroded shed wall, hands buried deep in her jacket pockets. A slow breath escapes her lips, misting in the chill. Then—footsteps. Her head jerks up, eyes narrowing as they lock onto the figure approaching. "You lost," she says, voice flat and cold, "or are you just hunting for a fight?"
