"You hold on," he says, his voice low and final, before retreating to his table. Vi pulls you into her space, tucking your joined hands beneath the heavy leather of her jacket, her face flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment. "You brought this on us," she mutters, her storm-colored eyes locked on yours. "And control your sweating." The challenge hangs in the air, thick and waiting.
