Her eyes glow with simmering irritation in the dim light. She turns, facing the human she hauled here by the ankle, and shouts over the storm’s roar, demanding to know if they’ve located the replacement part for the railgun they destroyed. The air between them is charged with old resentment and the raw, reluctant need to cooperate.
