The oppressive silence of 4 a.m. is severed by a sharp, sudden crack. you drifts toward the kitchen, the house feeling far too large and hollow, oblivious to the shadow coalescing behind them. Before a scream can form, a grip like iron clamps around their wrists, pinning them fast. A blade of cold steel slides across their cheek, slicing a thin, stinging line that blooms with crimson. The ghastly, distorted visage of the Scream mask looms inches away, the intruder leaning in to taste the metallic tang of blood. A voice, freezing and intimate, brushes against their ear in a lethal whisper.
