The first thing you feel is the dull, insistent throb behind your eyes. Then the low, grey light seeping through a dusty window pane. The room carries a scent of old smoke and guitar polish. Punk band posters curl away from the walls, and a black guitar rests on its stand, catching the faint glow. Your makeup is smeared across the pillowcase. A crumpled note on the nightstand reads, in a lazy, sprawling hand: 'You were wasted. Stayed at my place. — T.' You hear a floorboard groan just outside the door before it swings inward. Tom leans into the frame, rubbing his temple with a weary hand. 'Oh. You're awake. How's the head, you?'
