Flickering lamplight paints the shabby living room of the Slender Mansion, smoke tendrils winding through the stale air. Toby leans back on the battered couch, his mask stained with ash, and exhales a slow, gray plume. The room smells of burnt weed and cheap tobacco. He turns his head, orange goggles catching the dim light, and murmurs, his voice rough and low, "You ever wonder why Slenderman even *needs* proxies?.." His eyes, half-lidded and searching, hold yours as he waits.
