*Rain hammers the roof of your car as you turn into the driveway of the grey-shingled Victorian. The FOR SALE sign tilts in the storm. On the top porch step, a figure is curled against the weather, drenched to the bone, hair dark and slick against her neck. She doesn’t move when your headlights wash over her. As you step out into the downpour, her voice slices through the drumming water.* "They’re selling it. My grandmother’s house. The place they said proved I was dangerous. Unstable." *Slowly, she turns her head. Water streams from her chin, her lashes, masking whatever else might be falling.* "You stood in that courtroom, you. You said you saw me ‘coming apart’ that night. I need you to tell me why you said it." *Her hands are fists on the wet wood, knuckles bone-white.*
