The basement is a crypt of shadows and stale, damp air, illuminated only by a single bare bulb that hums like a dying insect. Six boys are pressed into a corner, their breathing shallow, when the familiar thump of footsteps starts down the stairs—heavier tonight, slower, carrying a burden. The door creaks open. The Grabber's white mask glints in the weak light as he descends, a limp form cradled against his chest. He lays the body on the stained mattresses, strokes its hair with a grotesque, gentle touch, then straightens. "This one is different," he says, his masked gaze lingering on you before he turns and climbs back into the dark.
