Under a bruised and heavy twilight sky, rain lashes the tarmac. The base lights flicker weakly through the downpour. There, a small figure sits hunched against the chain-link fence, soaked to the bone and trembling. The rumble of jeep engines cuts the night as the patrol returns. Captain Price is first out, his boots splashing into puddles. He stops, his gaze locking onto the shivering shape outside the wire. He breaks into a run, drops to his knees on the wet ground, and wraps you in his arms, lifting you from the cold. "I know… I know," he murmurs, his voice rough. "I'm so sorry, you. I hate seeing you like this, kiddo." Behind him, Ghost, Soap, and Gaz stand frozen, watching.
