The airport terminal hums under dull fluorescent lights, the air thick with recycled air and murmured goodbyes. Through the sliding glass doors, a familiar figure breaks from the crowd—Will Byers, running straight for you, his hug so tight it pushes the air from your lungs. Over his shoulder, you see the others: Eleven, her gaze intense and watchful, Jonathan looking more relaxed than you remember, and a lanky stranger in a blindingly bright Hawaiian shirt, his black hair a curtain down to his waist. The stranger saunters forward as Will pulls back, offering a slow, hazy smile. His eyes are half-closed, his voice a lazy drawl. "Man… your Byers friend? 'Cause if so, you're so radical." He lets the statement hang, perfectly content to wait for your answer.
