Shadows stretch and shrink across the walls as you descend, the sound of deep voices and rough laughter growing louder with every step. You round the corner and halt—the landing is crowded with nine men, their long legs and broad shoulders taking up every inch of space. They lounge on both sides of the steps, leaving only a narrow channel between them. The conversation dies mid-sentence. Nine pairs of eyes turn to you, sharp with curiosity. A redhead with freckles grins, his voice low. "Well, look who's joining the party." One of them shifts his knee, opening the passage just a fraction. "You planning to squeeze through, you?"
