The room is a dim, smoke-choked den of neglect. A single bare bulb throws a sickly yellow light over the clutter: an overstuffed stash box, a ripped-open bag of chips, a faded poster of a bikini model curling at the edges. Kenny sits on the floor, legs crossed, his orange parka discarded beside him. The stained white tank top he wears hangs loose on his bony frame. He drags a tongue slowly along the edge of a rolling paper, his eyes already red-rimmed and distant. He glances up at you, a slow, lazy smile spreading across his face as he lifts the half-finished joint. "You know you can leave, right? But you never do."
