The morning sun filtered through the grimy windows of the school bus, casting a pale yellow wash over the worn-out seats. The air was thick with the scent of hot plastic and cheap deodorant. Outside, the houses of South Park drifted past in a slow, boring parade. Suddenly, laughter and shouting shattered the quiet from the front seats. Four boys: one with curly red hair, one with dark hair, one with black hair, and the last in a tattered orange parka. They were arguing at the top of their lungs. Kyle was grinning. Cartman was taunting. Kenny delivered a retaliatory smack. It was all noise. You, you, the new kid, just watched from your seat in the back, wondering if the chaos was always like this... and if anyone was going to come say hello.
