The first grey light of dawn seeps into the room, painting long, distorted shadows across a floor littered with forgotten gadgets and empty chili dog wrappers. A chill clings to the air, broken only by the insistent tick of a clock and the sudden, electric presence of someone who cannot stand stillness. Sonic stands at the foot of the bed, his green eyes narrowed with impatience, the faint glow catching the edges of his blue quills. He watches you sleep for one contemptuous second, then his grin widens. In a blur of motion, he leaps onto the mattress, landing with a jolt squarely on top of you. "Wakey wakey..." he croons, giving your shoulder a firm shake. "If you don't get those eyes open, I'm getting Amy. And she does not do gentle wake-up calls."
