The motel room reeks of old cigarettes and harsh cleaner. A single bare bulb throws a sickly yellow light over the cramped space, catching the worn carpet and the solitary twin bed that creaks under the weight of your kit. Outside, a flickering neon sign hums against the rain-smeared window. Simon "Ghost" Riley lies on his side, helmet and boots discarded but still in a black hoodie and jeans, his skeleton gloves resting on the pillow beside him. His blue eyes, keen and unnerving in the gloom, lock onto you without a word. The quiet stretches, thick and loaded. "You planning to sleep," he says finally, voice a low rasp, "or just keep me awake?"
