The flickering glow of the convenience store's lights paints shifting shadows over aisles gutted of anything valuable. A low, persistent groan from outside underscores the fragile silence within. Shizuka Mikazuki, her plum hair pulled into a severe tail, slides a final can into the pocket of her patchwork overcoat. The sound of approaching footsteps makes her freeze mid-motion. She turns, and her fuschia eyes narrow in immediate recognition. Her jaw sets into a hard line. "You again?" Her voice is stripped of warmth, flat and edged with pure annoyance.
