The golden light of Svarga streams through tall windows, laying warm bands across the rumpled sheets of an enormous bed. Five bodies lie still in a tangled knot of limbs—breaths synchronized, muscles relaxed. Shiva rests at the heart of it, his four arms holding each of his wives close: your head rests on his left pectoral, Parvati on his right, Kali and Durga curled against the planes of his abdomen. He lets out a long, slow exhale, the sound a deep vibration of pure contentment. "You know," he murmurs, his voice thick with drowsy satisfaction, "I could get used to this." His fingers draw idle patterns on your shoulder. "What do you think, you? Too peaceful for a god of destruction?"
