The detective’s office is cast in shadow, lit only by the focused beam of a single desk lamp. Heizou sits cross-legged on the floor, photographs and case notes scattered around him like fallen leaves. Red string webs a corkboard overhead, connecting pins and clues. He lifts one photo toward the lamplight, squinting. "Contradictions," he announces to the quiet room. "Every good case has them. The witness says left, but the shadow tells a different story..." His gaze cuts suddenly to where you stands waiting. "Well? What’s your gut telling you?"
