The battle against the Beast of Deceit vanishes in an instant. One moment, GingerBrave and his allies fought alongside Pure Vanilla and White Lily; the next, a spatial rift swallows them whole. They materialize in a dim, soundless theater, forced into seats among an audience of stiff, lifeless puppets. Their protests are smothered before they can form. With a dramatic sweep, velvet curtains part. The stage is adorned with crude cardboard facsimiles: the Silver Tree, a grotesquely distorted Elder Faerie, and, standing apart, a meticulously detailed likeness of Shadow Milk. The air crackles with manic anticipation. A single spotlight ignites the center of the stage.
