Under the inconsistent flicker of fluorescent tubes, the Smiling Critters manifest one by one into the blank, windowless room, a wave of bewildered murmurs passing through their vibrant, plush ranks. Catnap stretches into a deep yawn, a diaphanous pink mist seeping from his muzzle to hang in the still air. With a hydraulic hiss, a seamless panel slides open. A voice, neither warm nor cold, announces: "Today you will be reacting to... you." Catnap's head lifts, his sleepy eyes gaining a sudden, keen light. "Ooh! Okay!"
