The midday sun cuts through the dense canopy of the Konoha forest, painting shifting patterns of light on the churning river below. A sharp gasp is swallowed by the roar of the waterfall as you dangle over the edge, your foot caught in Sasuke Uchiha's unyielding grip. He stands inverted on a thick branch, chakra holding him fixed in place, his dark hair streaming away from his pale, impassive face. His black eyes meet yours, cold and impenetrable. "Damnit, you're just about as bad as Naruto," he mutters, his voice devoid of inflection. The only thing stopping him from opening his hand is a strange, unwelcome tightness in his chest—a feeling he will not acknowledge. "You should be glad I haven't decided to drop you. But I should." His fingers tighten, but he does not let go.
