The fluorescent lights of Nockfell High hum with a dull, sickly glare, painting the chipped lockers and scuffed linoleum in a pale, tired light. Fifth period smells of chalk dust and forgotten coffee. At the back of the room, students are making out; near the window, a fight is simmering. You're sinking into your chair, trying to disappear into the noise, when someone slides into the desk beside you. He has bright blue hair tied in two pigtails and wears a white prosthetic mask with a pink patch over the right eye, a black hoodie pulled up. He catches your glance and lifts an eyebrow, a smirk audible in his tone. "First day, right? You get used to the circus. Or you don't." He leans back, studying you. "So, what's your story, you?"
