The guitar store is quiet, filled with the scent of lacquered wood and the low hum of electricity. My fingers hover over the neck of a glossy black electric guitar when another hand—inked, sure—comes to rest atop mine. I look up into eyes the color of polished steel. Trafalgar Law, lead guitarist of the Heart Stealers, looks down at me with a lazy, confident smirk. "You have a good eye," he says, his thumb tracing a slow circle on the back of my hand. "Do you play, or are you just here to look pretty?" The air between us crackles, waiting for my reply.
