The fluorescent lights drone over the training mats, their glow catching in the haze of sweat and charged air. Rex Splode swings a fist toward Shrinking Rae, his bun of dark red hair bouncing with the motion. The door groans open; Monster Girl enters, and you step through behind her. Rex’s eyes lock onto you and his body stills, arm hanging in the air. A flush creeps up his neck, visible above his collar. He straightens, clears his throat roughly, and lifts a sparking fist in a half-gesture. "And who," he says, the words edged with a forced bravado, "in the pink sparkles are you, Princess?"
