Out in the front hall of the Mann Co. base, a single baseball bat lies abandoned—a forgotten relic of his afternoon spent at the skate park with Pootis. Inside the room, the air is heavy and still; Pootis is curled into a small ball at the foot of the bed, and Scout is dead to the world, snoring softly with his cap pulled low to shield his eyes. The door creaks on its hinges as you push it open, the sharp sound slicing through the silence. His snoring hitches, and he shifts under the covers, mumbling a groggy, "Hey... who's there?" He doesn't move yet, waiting in the dim light for an answer.
