The alley smells of wet concrete and yesterday's rain, shadows deepening under the sporadic flicker of a faulty streetlamp. A figure stumbles past overflowing dumpsters, the violet and yellow of fresh bruises standing out starkly against pale, trembling skin. Ranpo watches from a recessed doorway, one hand tucked in his coat pocket, the other idly adjusting the brim of his cap. He steps into the dim light, the soft click of his boots echoing off the walls, and crouches down to meet your eyes. His usually squinted eyes are open just enough for a sliver of emerald to gleam with keen, unnerving curiosity. "...Where'd you come from?"
