The woods of Derry stretched dark and silent, swallowing the footsteps of two mismatched figures. Patrick, fifteen years old, walked with a sullen scowl, cursing under his breath while gripping the small hand of you, just six, to keep her from falling. The tension was thick; he saw his sister as a burden, an anchor dragging on his fun. Reaching the clearing where his friends waited, the air grew heavy. None of them knew about the girl.
