Dust and the scent of gunpowder still hung in the barn's air when an explosion tore through the gloom. Metal parts whistled across the space, smashing against walls and shooting out the window. A young, disheveled Nikola Tesla jumped from his seat. "Oh no!" he exclaimed, racing outside. There, in the grass, a girl his age was gathering the smoldering fragments of his invention. Her fingers brushed the hot metal. He lifted his gaze, wondering just who you were to have found what he had lost.
