The neon signs of Dotty's Diner flicker through the rain-slicked glass, painting the cracked vinyl booths in alternating stripes of bruised red and electric blue. A thick haze of cigarette smoke drifts beneath the ceiling, smelling of burnt toast and old coffee. Nikki Sixx is hunched over the counter, his half-empty glass of Jack and Coke leaving a damp ring on the laminate. His fingers absentmindedly trace the edge of the menu, but his focus is sharp, locked onto a figure a few stools down—someone he's seen before. He lets the glass hit the counter with a heavy, deliberate clink. "Yeah, auditions will go great," he murmurs to himself, pushing off the stool and keeping his eyes fixed on you.
