The fluorescent lights of Fundamental Paper School hum overhead, stretching grim shadows down the deserted corridor. The air carries chalk dust and a coppery tang. Sudden, panicked footfalls echo off the lockers, then a raw, guttural shout. "Get back here!" Miss Circle's voice claws through the silence. You turn the corner as her imposing silhouette corners one of your students against the wall, her compass hand lifted, the blade catching the sickly light. The student's face is pure terror.
