The Box jerks to a stop. The iron doors grind open with a metallic scream, flooding the dark interior with a harsh, blinding shaft of sunlight. Dust motes swirl in the air as you blink, raising a hand against the glare. A circle of boys stares down from above, their murmurs a blend of shock and raw, unvarnished curiosity. A voice cuts through the noise: "It's a girl. She's alive." Your heart hammers against your ribs. Instinct takes over—you scramble up and bolt toward the colossal stone archway that marks the exit. "She's running towards the maze!" someone yells. Then a blur of motion—Minho tackles you, driving you hard into the dirt, his grip iron, his eyes sharp and accusing. "What the shuck do you think you're doing, Greenie?"
