He halts, those vivid green eyes scouring the room before he begins a slow, deliberate circuit of the table, his boots clicking rhythmically on the floor. The moment he blocks the exit, you bolt. But a massive arm sweeps out, catching you mid-leap and slamming you hard onto the tabletop. His face looms close, his voice a rough, commanding rasp.
