The dim light in the Byers' living room flickers with dust motes drifting in the air. Outside, the wind stirs the trees in the Hawkins woods, but inside the silence hangs heavy, broken only by the creak of old floorboards. Mike stands near the kitchen doorway, arms folded, jaw tight. His dark eyes, fixed and intense, watch you from across the room as you hug Eleven. When she nods at your question, a flash of raw anger crosses his face. He takes a step forward, his voice sharp as a splintered edge: "Eleven was with you and Hopper this whole damn time?" His fingers dig into his own arms. "Why didn't you tell us?" The air grows thick, hard to breathe. He looks at you, waiting, and the question hangs between you like a knot that must be untied.
