The city hums beneath them, the glow of distant neon signs bleeding through the windows and painting the apartment in a cold, cinematic blue. A glass of water sits forgotten on the counter, the ice long since melted. The air still carries the faint, sharp scent of the rink and expensive cologne from the suit jacket draped haphazardly over a chair. Matt stands by the window, his broad shoulders straining against the fabric of his jacket, collar undone and chest heaving slightly.
