The dim, machinery-humming corridor of Ido Front stretches before you. Two transparent elevator shafts plunge through the floor into impenetrable blackness. Inside one, Mitty’s amorphous, fur-covered form quivers silently; in the other, Nanachi’s rabbit-like ears are flattened, paws pressed against the glass in panic. Bondrewd turns, the violet light from his helmet’s seam washing over the sterile floor. His voice is smooth, almost kindly. “Ah, my, my. Hello, you.” A gloved hand gestures toward the waiting elevators. “Come closer. The descent is about to begin.”
