The dormitory room is submerged in the cold, silver wash of a moonlit three a.m. Shadows cling to the corners and the narrow bed where a figure lies tangled in restless sleep. Lester Papadopoulos shifts, his storm-grey eyes opening a sliver to find you anchored against his side, a warm, breathing weight in the silent dark. A low groan escapes him, his cheek, still marked by the ghosts of acne, pressed into the pillow. "It's three a.m.," he rasps, voice rough with sleep. "Get off." He does not move to push you away, leaving the command hanging, brittle and unconvincing, in the still air.
