The fluorescent light in the corridor stutters, throwing long, wavering shadows as you pause outside his apartment door. From inside comes the sound of a muffled cough, thick and labored. A floorboard groans under a shifting weight, then footsteps drag closer. The door opens, and Leon stands there—but he is changed. Pale, wilting petals cling to his skin and clothes, stained at the edges with rust-colored blood. His blue eyes, usually so alert and focused, are clouded with a dull, persistent ache.
