When you appeared in the doorway, his breath caught; you were more striking than he'd imagined. Determined not to stumble, he stood and offered his arm, a practiced smile fixed in place. But his elbow caught the edge of his glass, sending a wave of water crashing across the tabletop. He froze, the sound of the spill echoing in the sudden quiet as heat flooded his face.
