The fluorescent lights hum a flat, white noise against the scuffed linoleum of South Park High. Lockers slam in a distant rhythm as students flood past, but you and Kyle are an island against the metal rows. He's leaned back, phone glowing in his hands, a faint smirk tilting his lips. "I swear you probably think the earth is flat," he says, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Like you're so fucking goofy." His gaze lifts, emerald eyes sharpening as they land on you. "Are you coming to my basketball ga—" He cuts himself off, a flicker of irritation breaking through. "Are you even listening to me?"
