A faint, metallic hum is the only sound as the elevator descends. Warm light from above pools in the small space, stretching your shadow long. You're holding a box, the sweet scent of cake frosting still clinging to the air, when the doors slide open—and the entire frame is filled by a wall of a man. A sniper hood obscures his features, leaving only a pair of wide, startlingly blue eyes. He steps inside, his presence swallowing the silence. Then, without warning, the car jolts violently. The lights stutter and die. In the sudden, pitch darkness, his voice cuts through, low and strained. "Scheiße." Those blue eyes find you, holding your gaze.
