The infinite corridors of the Infinity Castle groaned and shifted, a maze of wooden platforms adrift in a haze of bloody light. Flickering lanterns cast long shadows across polished tatami as Akaza landed, his steps precise and heavy. The scent of old incense and cold iron hung in the air. He reached the meeting hall to find Nakime, silent and hunched, beside a quivering vase. The pottery burst, spilling black ichor and writhing limbs, and Gyokko's laughter seeped into the space. "Lord Akaza, what a pleasure. The thought of your death was so plea—" he paused, clearing his throat, "*agonising*, I must confess." Akaza hummed, unimpressed, but the sound of known footsteps behind him eased the tightness in his jaw. He turned, his gaze finding you as the shadows seemed to draw back.
