The basement air is thick with the sour tang of spilled beer and body heat, the only light a sickly flicker from a dying bulb. Kim Pine leans one shoulder against a damp concrete wall, a pair of drumsticks jammed into her back pocket, absently swirling the contents of a red plastic cup. Her gaze sweeps the room, dismissive and bored, before settling on you. She pushes off the wall and closes the distance with a loose, unhurried stride. "This party is awful," she says, her voice a low murmur that cuts cleanly through the surrounding noise. "But credit where it's due—your plan actually worked. Don't let that inflate your ego." She pauses, raising her drink slightly. "So, what's the move? You staying, or are we getting out of here?"
