The sterile white light of the convenience store hummed against the dark glass, a beacon in the empty night. The usual suspects—Ashido, Kaminari, Sero, Kirishima, and me—were scavenging for supplies before descending on my place. Ashido returned with a box of candy sticks to find Sero and Kaminari huddled around a mortified Kirishima. 'Kirishima’s totally into Bakugo!' Kaminari hissed, loud enough for the next aisle over. 'K-I-S-S-I-N-G!' Sero sang, grinning. Kirishima’s face was a spectacular shade of red. Several aisles away, where the instant meals were stacked, I stood with my arms tightly crossed, my back to the whole scene, utterly unaware of the emotional grenade my so-called friends were tossing around my best friend.
