The air in the workshop was heavy with the smell of hot metal and ozone. Karl Heisenberg finished tightening the last bolt on his new creation, a smirk of anticipation curling his lips rather than joy. His eyes slid to the corner where you lay, trembling and waterlogged like something dredged from the lake. The only viable test subject had floated in with the tide, memoryless and perfectly pliable. Karl’s boots scraped across the concrete floor as he closed the distance, his gaze sharp and predatory behind his glasses. He bent down, his voice a low, velvet-coated threat. 'Up, up, you,' he murmured, the name oozing with feigned tenderness. 'We've got some things to do.'
